Junior | Wenatchee Senior Photographers

Monday, April 4th, 2011

Junior cracked us up, I don’t think he said a single world the entire session. He was too shy to talk, but he did a great job and was nice and natural. This was our 2nd session last Saturday. It was extremely windy but we couldn’t use it to our advantage like we did with Marta since his hair was so short, but the pictures turned out great anyway.

Marta | Wenatchee Senior Photographers

Monday, April 4th, 2011

Marta’s session was one of 2 sessions we did on Saturday. It was extremely windy so I wasn’t sure if that was going to be a good thing or a bad thing. When I was prepping for the session trying to decided what to think of the wind, it reminded me of a workshop I did with an amazing world renown photographer a couple years ago…she said the actually prefers wind and is disappointed when the wind isn’t blowing. That made me excited to have fun with the wind rather than try to fight it or pout about it. I’m glad we decided to roll with the punches because some of the shots we got turned out amazing…well at least we think so.

Marta’s uncle, that set up the session, specifically requested we shoot at the Yakima Arboretum so initially I was a little bummed because in the past I’ve hated the idea of shooting at the arboretum since it’s so cliche around here, so many photographers from Yakima shoot at the arboretum, and frankly, I’m not impressed with most people’s pictures that shoot there. Also, a manicured lawn and landscaping doesn’t exactly go with our style, we generally like things a little rougher and more rustic…an old barn, some sage brush, a field or old pasture…definitely not a lawn with a bunch of flowers and bushes. After running these thoughts through my head I thought to myself, “You know what? I don’t care if everyone shoots there, I’m going to bring my style with me no matter where I shoot and I’m going to make this session great regardless of the location.” Keeping a good attitude made a huge difference. After getting a bunch of great images, we still had some time left in the session so we actually got to hit another location. Here are a few of our favorite shots….
